I think that 2025 and 2026 especially will be the big time for the "year of the Linux desktop". This time for real.
With nvidia/wayland getting fixed up, Gimp 3 and Cosmic coming along, Linux Mint getting refreshed, flatpak maturing, it's happening!
I still personally project about 8%-10% OS market share by the end of the decade for Linux. Unless AI, aliens, politics, or large meteorites have other plans.
