Maybe as a jap you've not gone through this before, but this has happened countless times in the west. It's always the same: they find something popular, join the fandom/community, ruin it, and them move on to the next thing. It's happened countless times; even to the biggest franchises in the west. Star Wars for example is a dying IP because of these people, coasting along solely off of name recognition. We're so sure and so hostile because we know how this goes and we're sick of it. The only way to avoid it is to gate keep them, don't let them ever be welcome; they never join a hobby for the hobby itself, but the clout that comes from being seen as a part of the club. Take heed when people with experience warn you and maybe you can prevent it from happening.
