It's funny how threads about great programmers with deceptively low productivity metrics always attract 400 other great programmers who are similarly maligned by metrics. I'm inclined to say metrics are unreliable crap, but it's still fascinating that nobody anywhere is, or has ever worked with, a great programmer with good metrics. Or, for that matter, a bad programmer with bad metrics. The only two types that exist are good programmers with bad metrics and bad programmers with good metrics.
