I hear you. In the states, in just about every area there are support bunnies that get hired out to go to universities and hospitals etc.. snakes and reptiles go to high schools etc. I believe it depends on holding providers of these services to humane standards. Getting to touch and "untouchable" animal can foster a lifelong facination for the conservation of the species.

Weird how most people are okay with eating roos, but not holding koalas. Yes I know roo are like deer in the states and they are considered am invasive species, but still it seems if the animal is considered deadly or a food source, the rules change. I was just as over the moon to get to hug and feed the free-range roos as I was to hold the koala.

IMO regulations around supervised handling should be enforced, maybe even be updated with increase fines for infractions, but it would be a sad day if people are prevented from having close-up experiences with these beautiful animals 💜
