Q4. Why are road racing bicycles tires so loud?
I recently took part in the slowUp Lake Zurich, a non-elite cycling and inline-skating event. Due to the Cycling World Championships in Zurich that week, we had an above-average number of racing cycles taking part. After a few times being overtaken by one, I could tell just from the noise of their tires on tarmac that another one is coming from the back without turning my head or using the rear-view mirror.
