An aluminum folding ladder with a 12+ft reach is closer to 30-35lbs. I’ve seen pretty shrimpy Boy Scouts carry packs weighing that much for a few miles. Feasible to me tbh, I just doubt he could have concealed all of that that far without attracting attention.
