I had some problems understanding the Scottish accent. It seems that it's a hard accent, but it could be partly my mistake, too. I practice my listening in English essentially with Sean Carroll's podcast. I don't know from what part of the US is, but his accent is very clear to me (besides explaining physics very clearly, too).
I guess I should listen to more English. It's true that sometimes I listen to a movie or series, but infrequently. Podcasts are the key, but I'm not a superfan of them, and I don't want to quit reading time for podcast time...
