You extrapolated a lot of things I don't believe into "my position." This is the definition of a straw man.
Instead of building one for you, I ask you to respond to my reading of your position, to see if its accurate:
Your words:
- Is the American government beholden to the will of the people or not?
- If it is, the people there have been pretty clear what they do not want.
- If it is not, that is called tyranny.
- I am respecting the minority right to have their own rules in their own town where letting the immigrants stay is the law they voted for.
"A town in America should be able to govern themselves, regardless of the democratic process. If you don't like (insert law here) if enough people in a town are against it, then the local police, federal law enforcement should let them govern themselves."
You:
- Note that the law allowing immigrants to stay in LA with fewer restrictions caused 0 riots nationally over the course of many years. Only when the laws they voted for in their town were ignored did the people protest.
- The city was indisputably more peaceful before the federal interference.
- There is no way a serious adult with an IQ over 70 is pro 10th amendment enough to put it in their bio and pro sending federal agencies to violently force compliance from a local population that doesn't want them there.
"If enforcement of a law *causes people to riot* its the enforcement that should be changed(!), not the rioters that were "put in that position." Again, people should be able to make their own rules, if enough of us (mob) agree."
This position has never been how a just society works. The radical left nearly put their "boot" in me to leave my profession over the vax mandate, and I would have been justified in standing up to that oppression. In all my positions I have supported standing up against being wronged. If, however, I threw rocks at Biden for forcing me out of my job, I would be imprisoned for the crime that I committed.
The ICE agents aren't the gestapo, they are doing their job and the protestors are wrongfully committing crimes.
This last part is probably the only thing you'll respond to, and not the question posed. Have I adequately stated your position?
