This statement implies violence ... making the children do what you think is right. It's what my grandfather would say. And it's how our current societies operate with people needing an authority for safety.
But there's a balance to be had by setting a framework in which children can thrive and you detach yourself from the outcome as a parent. This is a setting in which love can flower and children grow up to become free, responsible human beings.
Nature has already consequences in store, there's no need to add man-made concepts of reward and punishment.
