Saw a review for Hellblade that reads "This isn't a game, it's an interactive panic attack" and boy howdy if that isn't fucking accurate. I've wanted to complete it but after I reached the dark I began to feel intense discomfort and anxiety bordering panic welling and when finally spotting <spoiler> I had to pause and then exit because it felt like the true inside of a nightmare for me.
There are things one can describe as "nightmarish" frequently, but this felt like one of my nightmare's distilled psychological core made real in a way I could not confront.
