What works for profs at top 50 law schools does not seem to work for most of us at lower ranked (or unranked) schools. I'm always disappointed with the placements I get in the summer cycle. BUT if you wait until Dec-Jan, a FEW journals do a special quick=decision exclusive-submission window, and I fare better with those. My theory is that far fewer authors are submitting then.
