Their ovaries can get cysts which some theorize is from prolonged heat cycles with no fertilization, idk if there have actually been many studies about it, we tend to not care as much about cats.
Cats are also induced ovulators, meaning that having sex knocks them out of the heat. Unlike dogs which only go into heat like twice yearly and for a week at a time, cats are going to be spending about half of their life in heat if not bred.
