I'm reading on licensed cannabis forums that the DCC, the Department of Cannabis Control, has been showing up at farms and other businesses threatening huge fines or shutting down businesses over minor infractions, technical violations that don't hurt anyone, things like that. Being very jackbooted about it.
This isn't surprising. They've always taken on the role of cops who hate weed. Legalization in California is just "prohibition by other means", as I've taken to calling it. It was never meant to work.
They can very arbitrarily enforce absurd rules that no legitimate business can comply with and threaten massive fines or shut downs. Over nothing.
Our lovely little nursery should be held up as an example of how to do it right. Instead, we're treated like criminals. I want everyone to grow their own whether you buy plants from us or not, just to get back to the old days where it wasn't all so corporate and bureaucratic and authoritarian.
This is supposed to be fun.
