the "audio plays for a few seconds before stopping" problem happens in Chrome and VLC. entirely different software suites.
with professional grade audio HW. FocusRite 18i20.
works without flaw on macOS and Windows. Linux is the problem, as always. this is why, despite liking the idea behind it, i have to choose things i don't like to have things working reliably.
