never met a public transit system I liked, and they are virtual non existent anywhere but the coasts of the USA. We literally would do better with solar and wind powered electric bikes and trucks by https://www.edisonmotors.ca/ . But moms just aren't going to trade in the minivan or SUV (pushed by government standards for air quality) to go shopping, which for most people is 45 minutes away. (country driving or big city traffic) Light rail like phoenix or Salt Lake city also run on about 45 minutes schedules. Nobody but poor use this and granted while the government is actively trying to make us all poor to control us, adoption rates generally do not cover the cost of the jobs, engineering, steel shipped from overseas etc. which promotes more government overreach. Plus the 15 minute cities which is what you are promoting here is generally seen as they want to lock me into a box. The poor get concrete brutilism, the middle class which is rapidly disappearing get tiny homes, and the rich seem to get what ever they want. Also the reduction in floor plan space generally is seen as a way to control population and plays right into the fears of the WEF promoting cuts in energy usage which will lead to cuts in human population. They are trying to kill all of anyone not them mentality. So no, restoring trust won't work. Especially after the COVID lock downs. Did you see the riots that happened because of mental health reasons. A death might have sparked the fire, but it was not the fuel.
