What puzzles me William, is that the mother reinforces it.
I have so many memories of mine making comments such as "But why aren't you home making dinner?"
Or better yet, on learning of my promotion,
"Our X should have that job"
'X' being my youngest brother.
I would do anything for my daughter. I can't understand my mother continually promoting the patriarchy, in addition to seeming to feel she was in competition with me. 🤷🏻♀️
