Yeah, I know what you mean. It feels more authentic when you are playing a game that at least makes an effort to follow real-life rules, like traveling long distances taking time and effort. Many MMOs have taken player convenience to such an extreme that people don't even see the world they are playing in.
For example, the group-finding system for dungeons. Before, you would have to actually travel to the zone, find the dungeon, find a party to run it with, pick up the appropriate quests, and then do the thing. Now you can just chill in Stormwind, wait in a queue, and get teleported to run the instance when a group is found. It completely ruins the immersion.
