There is now a visual and thematic sub-genre of fantasy that I don't know if it has a proper name yet.
It's the older From Soft fantasy games, Northern Journey, Vermis, Symbaorum, and I guess also Darkwood, if it were a high fantasy world. Maybe Darkest Dungeon?
Its colors are black and dark green, and it has a big thing for rot, undead, and madness.
