i just had the owner of this place wander past, whistling as he went, and i saw he went around the side of the house and thought "hmm maybe owner?" and he said hello and asked if there was anything needing fixing

probably the main niggle is the hot water system, when the pressure is allowed to flow through the thing the overflow release valve drips constantly, so i turn it off

hopefully it will be fixed soon and i won't have to run around to the bathroom every time i want to fill the kitchen sink with hot water to do a wash.

in this i also learned that - i think - the portuguese word for "later" is the same as in russian, "porje" (POR-zhe)... the amount of archaic latin in the slavic languages was a surprise to me when i started to learn portuguese... they are actually more latin than the central/southern western european languages
