Solar storage is one method that is debatably renewable, but it doesn't require lithium.
I don't see how an electric car fits in this scenario; as it doesn't renew anything. The lithium itself isn't renewable, and does not generate electricity. Most of the electricity stored in the batteries will be from fossil fuels.
