I discovered one late last winter. Super easy, but not flakey. So easy you could just risk it once to know if you liked it. I made a whole bunch of deer stew pies :-) I normally can't be arsed to make pastry, but it was so fast. And these were both crusts, top and bottom. I did pre-bake the bottoms though, because I'm a whimp and didn't want to risk making bad pies... Lard or bacon grease (I used the latter) and buttermilk. Awesome!
