I’ve grown to appreciate that the vast majority of people (okay, 99.9999%) have never experienced the turbulence and joy of falling in love over a text interface, and they understandably find it weird that anyone could or would. Somehow the distance and terseness of the command line creates a sense of intimacy I have rarely seen elsewhere, except perhaps in handwritten letters. It is truly a special kind of experience.
