Well I must admit I tend to go back and look at what they've said in the past to see if they're consistent or just power seekers.

I've lived a long time though; long enough to see these things equalise. It's often about unintended consequences.

For example the recent abortion bans have actually made women more cautious and lowered the birth rate. That in turn makes workers more expensive and creates a need for immigration.

Unintended consequences. Happens all the time.
