I used to follow David Shor on twitter
and he is, afaik, a data scientist who when a kid, believed in knocking on doors and talking to people
then he looked at the data, and knockin on doors doesn't help; what the old time dinosaur consultants tell you - spend on TV/social media - is correct; mailing postcards and such is just busywork, so to speak
