This is probably a strange translation quirk where it was deemed to be easier to understand for western audiences if they were called Angels instead of Apostles.
I can't remember the term now for when you take a sentence or word and don't necessarily translate correctly, but translate to a more easily understood cultural alternative.
If another translation studio came along and changed it now, it would probably cause riots.
