I don't often have issues with DVD media in particular, but when I do, these drives tend to do better than the others.
I use LGs all the time for Blu-Ray and other specialized dumping (MPF for CDs and odd media), but I wouldn't recommend them 'cause they tend to degrade faster than the others in my experience.
