Sigh. Let the text say what it says.
Do not add commentary.
Let's read it together;
YHWH commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for IN THE DAY that you eat of it you shall surely DIE.”
- Ge 2:16–17
But the nachash said to the woman, “YOU WILL NOT surely DIE. For elohim knows that WHEN YOU EAT of it your eyes will be opened, and YOU WILL BE LIKE elohim, knowing good and evil.”
- Ge 3:4–5
YHWH said, “Behold, the man HAS BECOME LIKE ONE OF US in knowing good and evil. Now, LEST HE REACH OUT his hand and take also of the TREE OF LIFE and EAT, and live FOREVER—” therefore YHWH SENT HIM OUT from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. YHWH drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to GUARD THE WAY to the tree of LIFE.
- Ge 3:22–24
Who lied?
YHWH/YHVH or Nachash? ;
What did YHWH say would happen, and when?
What did the nachash say would happen?
What did YHWH say DID happen afterwards?
Did YHWH say how they'd STILL be able to live forever?
What did YHWH do to prevent from them living forever?
Please break down your view, FROM THE TEXT.
Who lied, how and when - and who did not lie, how and when.
