The physiologic hypothesis actually makes sense: prime the 'spot-reduction' area with increased blood flow from specific resistance training and then engage in aerobic activity to increase focal lipolysis. Some caveats:

-You have to be in a caloric deficit overall. Cannot outrun or outlift a bad diet. Clean it up.

-In general, cardio should be limited to 30 min or less (unless you are training for endurance running) and HIIT seems to be more than effective than steady-state

-Resistance training/lifting should be engaged in before cardio for maximal effectiveness. You learn this the hard way if you do kettlebells (also, safety issues)

But this is a really good find. The fact that they used DEXA scans to confirm the fat loss is high quality.

Also: if you are working on lower ab definition, Dragon Flags and V-ups should be your go-tos
