What's been bugging me about these Falcon 9 stories this week: the Falcon 9 did not fail. It lifted its payload to space exactly as planned followed by a 19th successful, clean landing for reuse.
The second stage Merlin also worked fine for its first engine ignition - so performed about as well as most other lift vehicles, ever.
What failed was the 2nd ignition for an orbital change.
Also, the Ariane 6 first flight didn't complete its planned orbital maneuvers.
