Essential? For fixing loneliness. I'd always had cats—
Then, there was Misha, my best friend. She’d great me at the door, actually converse with me, & nestle close when I slept. And then, she took sick & there was nothing that could be done. For years I nursed her until she passed in 2020 at far too young an age.
It broke me.
Now, there’s a little piece of Misha in every animal character I write—& there are a lot of them.
