I'm doing the opposite. My whole argument is that women need to consent to who they marry, but their father has the final say. This ensures the woman has agency BUT someone with far more experience in life is keeping Andrew Tate away, or shooting him out back and hiding the body.
Age of consent laws are pulled out of a hat from place to place and fail to stop badThing from happening anyway. Empowering fathers to do their job, however, fixes the whole thing.
No father will let his barely-pubescent 12 year old marry and have children. In a society under coverture, any father who would allow that shit would be beaten half to death by every other father in town.
