This is my favorite “tea” to make during the colder months. It’s especially soothing when I feel a sickness coming on.
I call it ‘The Spice.’

How to make 'The Spice'
You’ll need a medium-sized saucepan, a sieve, and measuring devices.
To the saucepan, add:
3.5c filtered water
1 lemon: squeeze through sieve and add everything but the seeds*
3 Tbsp fresh grated ginger root
2 Tbsp fresh grated turmeric root
1/4 tsp powdered cayenne pepper
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
Place saucepan on stove, bring to a simmer on low. This should take 10~15min.
Strain through sieve and serve. Makes about two, 14oz servings.
