During the holidays I embarked on an upgrade project to revive a near 12-year-old Lenovo Thinkpad T430 laptop with a new drive and more RAM.
I like the idea of taking old tech and improving it, extending its useful life rather than constantly buying the latest, shiniest new device.
Tech companies like Apple are well-known for making devices obsolete when, with little effort, they can continue to function for decades.
