Everyone online has more money than you.
Or at least it feels that way.

It’s human nature to get pulled into comparisons and the ones who made it are on all the podcasts we listen to. They’re doing big things! That’s who we want to hear from and looking up isn’t wrong.

However, it’s easy to fixate on them and lose track of your own path.

The old trope is that billions of people would trade places with you, but that idea never helped me much. I feel grateful for what I have, but ambition is part of human nature. We look forward.

So the real questions come back to:
What do you want in this life?
Are you moving toward it?

Plenty of plebs are sorting through the same questions.
Some are eager to leave their jobs.
Some already like their work and just want a bit more comfort.
Some want to get rich and accept those tradeoffs.

A few years ago I was at a Bitcoin conference dinner.
Someone predicted that everyone at the table probably had ten bitcoin.

I laughed to myself. I’ll never have that much.

There’s a version of me that figured out Bitcoin earlier.
A version that didn’t only buy tops.
In hindsight, it all seems so obvious

You can’t live your life comparing yourself.
There will always be people with more bitcoin.

Happiness. Fulfillment. Joy.
Whatever you value is your metric.
Comparing yourself to others is a fool's errand.
