News sources need to start using ActivityPub on their websites more and then they'll be follow-able from Mastodon or any other Fediverse account. Flipboard has already done it, and any site using Wordpress can install the ActivityPub plug-in now. Fedi clients could also add RSS feed support, though those wouldn't be comment-capable.",
