I recently learned stupid people think they're smart when they break the rules/norms/values by default, because they can find a solution outside of the set restrictions. (I truly hope that's not their interpretation of out-of-the-box thinking.) This apparently reached a point where you're dumb if you find the better solution within the restrictions. And they apparently assume a zero-sum game, which it isn't.
Someone literally could've shown them a more collaborative, beneficial environment and they got rid of him in favor of (almost) literal scum.
