I have and keep friends based on shared experiences, and maybe shared interests. Making a friend based on a shared belief is just fine, but keeping a friend for a shared belief is just alien to me. Keeping a bad friend because we share a belief? Rejecting a good friend because we don't share a belief? Absolutely not. Never.

What about friends who are not members of the Church of the SubGenius? Easy! Buy them a membership, whether they want one or not. PROBLEM SOLVED.
