So if I read this correctly, Democrats are lamenting that we can't fight a war directly right now because we have no elected speaker and we have gaps in Pentagon leadership. Here's my unpopular opinion: it's not as big a deal as the mainstream media thinks it is. The US news media is still very much in cold war / global war on terror mode. They love to write about the state of the empire. Speaker or no, the US empire is crumbling.
