I find that issue around me, too,though the fact that I'm visually impaired, I sort of have to have a smartphone in order to perform some activities; reading printed documents (apps which scan the document with my phone's camera), paying my bills, and so on. Without my phone or my computer,I would not be able to do those things,and would be forced to always have someone sighted around to read or handwrite for me. I consider that last resort. But then again, I have taught myself to ignore notifications on my phone that I don't need to care about at the given moment. I seem to be one of the only normal ones of my generation,though.
