We published our teardown of the succinctly named "MacBook" a decade ago. This 12 inch laptop began what Apple called "the future of the notebook," with USB-C, the butterfly keyboard, and soldered-down storage.
Thankfully the butterfly keyboard is dead, and we now get more than one USB port, but soldered storage sadly persists. That's a shame, because MacBooks have otherwise become more repairable over the last ten years.
