Why does religion survive? Why do cults keep forming? Why does fascism always rise up again?
These wouldn’t be happening unless they filled a need in people & gave evolutionary edge?
What is happening, is that when an imaginary layer forcing a unified worldview is applied and policed from above, people will find it easier to _predict_ what others will do next.
This allowed uniform societies to muster a larger amount of people to work together for a cause & feel safe.
