So maybe the solution is simpler than the growing industry of misinformation experts makes out. We need train ourselves to seek out and seriously consider information that clashes with our biases and our current knowledge base. Encourage others to do the same, for example by rewarding this behaviour with praise any time we see people doing it.

This is simpler than the elaborate fact-checking and moderation systems usually proposed as fixes for misinformation. But not necessarily easy.
