I pressed through the insufferability and am enjoying the fear porn of it all. It's a little weird that this book was written in 2016 and after like 5+ years of listening to Lavish/Lepard/Alden/Booth, et al. talk about the collapse, reading listening to a fictionalized story about the collapse is a little on the nose. I wonder how this story would have sounded to me in my precoiner years.
I tried to listen to mandibles audio book but this dude narrating and doing feminine voices has made it unbearable
