Definitely agree, but what annoys me more is them making the assumption, not the ignorance. Why assume if you can't tell?
The most egregious case was back in 2022, well before China reopened their border, an American living in Osaka for 10+ years complained about all the "Chinese" tourists in Namba, despite there being nearly none.
