Do you think this is a conspiracy to make Americans eat more junk food?
Most items at the grocery store that go on sale can be bought as a single item and still get the discount. Whenever I go down the chip aisle, though, the sale is always "buy 2 get 2 free". A 50% discount is very tempting, but I hate buying four fucking bags of chips at once, because with that many chips around the house I can't help but eat way more of them. I just want to satisfy a small junk food craving, not gorge myself on Doritos for a week. I know I could just pay full price for one bag, but then I feel like I'm overpaying. They also do this on energy drinks and probably other unhealthy and potentially addicting items.
