Longer shutters use more battery, when I do Timelapse’s from day-night (8hrs+) I often have to use a 20s interval, and change batteries every 3-4 hrs. A battery grip helps with two batteries, but at a 20s interval every 8 hrs is 1min of footage at 24f/a and you have enough time to change battery between images. The slider might make things difficult if you can’t access the battery tho :-/
