That is stupid of them and sucks. I only ever had to reach out to Fi support for one, simple thing related to a SIM, and they couldn't even understand what I was asking, gave wrong responses, talked with a supervisor and ultimately said nothing they could do. Which, honestly, is the experience I was expecting. I've always assumed if I ever had a problem with them I can't solve on my own that my solution would have to be switching carriers.
