I hunt around on eBay for Axis PoE cameras. They’re normally expensive/high end commercial cameras, but if you hunt around, you can find companies selling them open box. So long as they’re 1080p, they’re probably fairly recent.
They’re mounted around the house on an independent network and can’t connect to the Internet. Some of them claim need a special recorder, but you can add media.amp?Axis-Orig-Sw=true to the rtsp URLs and they’ll work with any recording software.
I’ve been meaning to finish up a video on them for a while.
