Many street lamps etc. have poles that are essentially conical - thinner at the top than the bottom. A node which is a conical collar with a cut-out gap and solar panels around the collar, could be plonked onto poles using a drone to pass the pole through the gap. When to node moves down the pole, the pole will become larger than the gap and you have a deployed node with enough solar panels in enough directions to keep the thing running until the council removes it....
