Serious question: Why would a billionaire ever favor autocracy? They would only lose power to a dictator. What’s in it for them? The only answer that makes sense to me is they’ve done something so insanely bad there is Kompromat. Otherwise they’d just buy what they wanted in a system ready-made for them.
